About Journey Fellowship
Our mission is to lead people into an authentic,
life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ.
Our Statement of Faith
God
We believe in one God, that is both One and Triune, who has eternally existed as the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He lived a sinless, human life and – by dying on the cross – offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people. To demonstrate His power over sin and death, Jesus arose from the dead after three days. He ascended into Heaven, and is now our High Priest and Advocate. He will return to earth to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Jesus Christ alone is our hope. We strive to follow the call of Jesus above all the demands of this world that compete for our time, energy and attention.
The Holy Spirit
We believe all believers receive the Holy Spirit when they receive Jesus Christ as the Lord of their lives and the provider of their salvation. We believe the Holy Spirit dwells in us as believers, and guides, instructs, equips and empowers us for Christ-like living and service.
The Bible
We believe that the Bible, containing the Old and New Testaments, is alone the only infallible, inspired Word of God, and that its authority is ultimate, final and eternal. It cannot be added to, subtracted from, or superseded in any regard. The Bible is the source of all doctrine, instruction, correction and reproof. It contains all that is needed for guidance in godliness and practical Christian conduct. Therefore, it is to be believed in all that it teaches, obeyed in all that it requires, and trusted in all that it promises.
Salvation
We believe salvation is a sovereign gift of God and is received by man through personal faith in Jesus Christ and His sacrifice for sin. We believe man is justified by grace though faith apart from works. We believe that Jesus Christ is the only means of salvation and that no one is saved apart from a conscious and personal decision to trust in Christ as his or her one and only savior. Salvation is predestined only in the sense that God, through His omniscience, foreknew those who would choose Him. It is secure in the unchanging commitment of God who does not lie and is forever the same. Salvation should produce an active lifestyle of loving obedience and service to Jesus Christ our Savior.
The Second Coming
We believe in the personal, bodily, second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The coming of Christ, at a time known only to God, requires constant expectancy and, as our blessed hope, motivates the believer to godly living, sacrificial service and energetic mission.
The Christian Life
We believe in the ongoing process of spiritual growth of the Christian through the Holy Spirit and God’s Word. Each person is to grow in his or her knowledge of God’s Word, and in developing and employing their spiritual gifts through the Church, so that others may come to know Christ, and that the Church may be built up into maturity.
Water Baptism and the Lord’s Supper
We believe baptism is symbolic of the death, burial and resurrection of Christ. Once we have accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior, baptism is a way for us to publicly declare our new life in Christ. It is a step of obedience based on God’s commands and allows us to follow the example of Jesus, who submitted himself to baptism to “fulfill all righteousness.”
We believe the Lord’s Supper is a memorial of Christ’s death and an expression of our faith in His future coming, that is to be practiced by all believers. We believe every Christian has a right to partake of the elements of Communion, but that participation must always be preceded by solemn self-examination.
The Church
We believe the Church is the Body of Christ that is made up of all Christ-Followers. Its mission is to glorify God and make Him known to the lost world. Every Christ-Follower is an integral part of the Church, creating a spiritual unity of brothers and sisters in mission and ministry. The church exists as a worldwide fellowship of the family of God, as well as in specific communities of believers in Jesus Christ. We recognize the vital role each person plays in expanding God’s kingdom, both in our community and to the ends of the earth.

Our Priorities
Love God
We want to love God through obedience, sacrifice and worship. When we hear Him, we will try to listen and obey. We will give ourselves fully to Him, live for Him and sacrifice for Him. We will express our love for Him in fellowship through singing heartfelt songs of worship to convey our love for Him.
Love Others
We love others in ways that reflect God’s love for us. It’s easier to love God than other human beings. People are not perfect; God is. Jesus said that loving others is as important as loving God … and not just those we want to love.
Live It!
We want to be known as people who love God and love others … 24/7 … in our day-to-day lives. We desire to be an authentic community of believers who live the message of Jesus and the Bible in a way that others would see and experience the love of Jesus!
